Many of you might have heard or even sung the funny rhyme. The dance sequence is also super funny and yesterday when i was in a orientation session people danced to this rhyme. It happens to be the cheer song for Virginia Tech. In VT it is called as the Hokie Pokie and during the football game the entire stadium dances to this rhyme.
In less than two hours the first class for this fall semester will begin. I have opted for more number of courses than what i can chew but i will be dropping a couple of them during this week. I wanted to take a math course but i am not sure if it will be too heavy to manage. Anyways i have a week to decide and finalize my courses. Hope this fall semester turns to be good in all terms!
The closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics is happening and it was a spectacular show. The last few weeks has been so great for all the sprots lover and Beijing served as an excellent host. China triumphed with the maximum number of Gold medals and USA got the maximum number of medals in total. As Pierre De Coubertine says Olympics is not about winning, it is about the spirited participation. The next summer Olympic games will be held in London.
The Beijing Olympics is coming to a close and the host nation has taken a clear lead with the most number of Gold medals. They worked on hard and finally made it. USA has bagged the maximum number of medals and ranks in the top of the chart. With only a few more events left it looks like we know who the winner is! hats off to China for pulling off a spectacular show.
Iphone has officially launched in India but the big shock is the price. Apple has tied up with two providers Airtel and Vodafone and both have priced the basic 3G model at 31000 INR which is more than 700 USD. The 16GB model is even costier and sells at 36000 INR. I guess there wont be many takers at such a huge cost. People will rather use a unlocked Iphone!
Yahoo Buzz which is a social media site was opened up for public use. It was restricted for submissions only by a private group and some studies revealed that it bursts out enormous amount of traffic. The public release has been a great opportunity for all the social media guys and they are trying to make the best use of it. What do you think of Yahoo buzz? Will it overtake other sites like Digg and Stumbleupon.
Today was the 61st Indian Independence day and it was celebrated by Indians all over the world. In the international center in my universities many of the Indian students and faculty members gathered and did the flag hoisting. There were light showers in the morning but it didn’t deter the people from meeting fellow countrymen and participating in the event.
The crude oil prices in the international market has been up and down but in the last two weeks it has been a little low. When ever i go to the transit shop i make a mental note of the gas prices from the station there. The price has come down by about 50 cents and currently iit sells around $3.4 a gallon in my place. Some sources have said that the pricess will go down further.
Now that we are all fed up with updating out Twitter it is time for some action and look out 12 sseconds. It is a twitter for video kind of thing and many top bloggers have started liking it. All you have to so is take a video of 12 seconds describing what you are doing and upload it. It is kind of short and sweet! It is currently in beta and you need an invite code to create an account.
