Iphone releases in India

Iphone has officially launched in India but the big shock is the price. Apple has tied up with two providers Airtel and Vodafone and both have priced the basic 3G model at 31000 INR which is more than 700 USD. The 16GB model is even costier and sells at 36000 INR. I guess there wont be many takers at such a huge cost. People will rather use a unlocked Iphone!

Yahoo buzz opens up!

Yahoo Buzz which is a social media site was opened up for public use. It was restricted for submissions only by a private group and some studies revealed that it bursts out enormous amount of traffic. The public release has been a great opportunity for all the social media guys and they are trying to make the best use of it. What do you think of Yahoo buzz? Will it overtake other sites like Digg and Stumbleupon.

MobileMe is a Mess

Some time back Apple launched the Mobile Me service where in users can pay and get apps for their Iphone. It can also keeps multiple systems in sync and the price which we have to pay is $100 a year. The biggest problem came when it didn’t work on properly and lot of people got frustrated with it. Mobile Me is the successor to the .mac service and is a real mess.

Now Faceboook has given a new interface and has also added on some new features. The fact is facebook is losing out on the number of users in the recent times. Every one has now started using any one of the three services. I have been a twitter user for quite a good time and to be frank it sucks. Still there are innumerable people who keep using Twitter (including me) because of its user base. I have also tried Friendfeed and plurk but still Twitter wins hands down for no particular reason!

Google has rolled out a new service called Trends for websites. Unlike Google trends which will give you the top searches at any particular moment based on the key words , trends for web sites will enable you to search the web site addressing apart from the keywords. This is a nice addition and wwill be very helpful for those who are working in the search arena.
